Spring is coming and soon is also Easter. I always then start to think about how I can decorate our home for Easter with self-sewn things, what gifts I can sew for Easter, and what I can fill in the Easter Baskets. Because self-made gifts come from the heart.
There are many creative ideas for Easter, and I have researched the top 10 Easter sewing projects for you. I present them here with a short description and a link to the project. Have fun with Easter sewing!
Contents
1. Egg Silverware Holder
The first pattern and instruction I want to introduce is an egg silverware holder from Sookie Sews. I found a pattern and a video tutorial. The pattern is for free and the video below shows how to make the egg silverware holder and other Easter decorations such as bunny stuffies, a bunny bag, and a bunny applique runner.
2. Easter Peeps Mug Rug
A quilted mug rug is another Easter sewing project I found. Under this link, you can see a step-by-step tutorial that is very easy to follow. Also, there is a list of materials and supplies you need for this project. I think such a mug rug can be an excellent present for Easter or a great idea for the table setting on Easter Morning.
3. Fabric Carrots
If you’re still looking for decorating ideas for Easter and spring, I found a pattern and very easy tutorial here on how to sew large or small carrots. The pattern is for free and includes small, medium-sized, and large carrots. For this project, you can use either plain fabric or fabric with patterns, as you can see in the picture. I found the carrot garland especially beautiful.
4. Bunny Pillow
Another decoration or gift idea is this cute bunny-shaped pillow. For this pillow, you can use beautiful spring fabrics or Easter fabrics in bright colors. Such a pillow will certainly look good in the living room or you can also sew it as a gift for children.
5. Fabric Easter Basket
A great idea is a self-made Easter basket. An Easter basket can be decorated as a centerpiece on the table filled with flowers, eggs, and bunnies. Also, the basket can be filled with gifts like Easter eggs, chocolate, stuffed bunnies, or toys for smaller children. More ideas on what to put into the Easter basket with pictures you can find here.
6. Bunny Treat Bags
Another gift idea for Kids Easter Basket is the bunny treat bag from stitchedbycrystal.com. You can sew these cute little bags from fabric scraps and stuff them with Easter treats. On the website, you get a step-by-step tutorial and a free pattern.
7. Easter Napkins
I found a great décor idea for an Easter brunch from Melissa of the Polka Dot Chair blog. In this article, she shows step-by-step how to make these beautiful Easter napkins. In this tutorial, you can find a material list for 4 napkins and an Easter Bunny Applique Template for free.
8. Fabric Easter Eggs
Again, a tutorial for lots of fabric scraps for these colorful Easter eggs. For them, you don’t need a lot of fabric and they are great as decoration. I have even found two good tutorials. One is from the website hellosewing.com and one is from retro-mama.blogspot.com. Both have a free pattern and pictures of how to make these cute eggs.
9. Stuffed Bunny
How to make a sweet stuffed bunny is shown to you by Sara and Melissa from the Alice and Lois blog. I especially like the choice of fabric and the cute pocket where you can also put something inside. Children would be very happy about such a gift.
10. Handmade Bunny Purse
On the same blog, I found the cutest handmade bunny purse with a bunny face and ears for little girls. Here’s the link to this instruction and the free template.
Hope you like my Easter Sewing Ideas. Please share and comment on which one you made for Easter.
Another idea for you as a gift would be applique on pillows and as already shown here, on napkins, if you want to know how to applique, you can read my article: How to Applique Easily With A Sewing Machine

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog!
My name is Liz, and I started sewing when my son was born. First I repaired the holes in children’s pants, then I dared to do more challenging projects like sewing home decor and children’s clothing. Now it is my hobby where I come to rest, let my creativity run wild, and create things that please me and enhance my home.
I would love to help other sewing beginners and enthusiasts through my blog by sharing tips and tricks for this great hobby.
